Penkhull TTC celebrated 10 years in existence this December (2011). Founder Rob Rhodes would like to thank members old and new, volunteers old and new and wishes everyone still involved with the club every success and health and furthermore looks to see the club continue to develop and progress in the next ten years.
The club has come a long way in 10 years. Numerous successful grants and bids including over £7000 from Awards for All, a £1000 donation from John Plump which was match funded are but a few of the initiatives which have helped the club update and upgrade equipment and coaches expertise. Seeing Natalie Slater develop from a young keen player to a Junior International is another highlight in the club’s 10 year history. I could go on forever… Several promotions for many of the senior teams in the Potts league with 2 teams playing in the top division of the local league (A team in its 4th season in the Prem) with only 1 or 2 teams demoted over the 10 years, Junior team success at both Potts league and the newly formed North Staffs League, and more recently the Club success in the “Stone league”. The formation of the banded league held for grassroots development… May the club continue to grow in the next 10 years and continue to attract its many band of players volunteers and helpers without whom the club would not survive thank you!!!!
Lastly one goal still stands for the founder Rob Rhodes – the club senior championship still eludes him and it was only last year after 9 years he won a title…Keep working away Rob……..all good things come to those who wait!!
